Locally owned & independently operated, Spruce Veterinary Urgent Care, exists between the emergency room and your primary care veterinarian.

Our team understands that an unexpected visit to the vet can be stressful for both pets and their guardians. We believe that every pet deserves individualized and compassionate care, tailored to their unique needs, even when an urgent medical issue arises. And we mean this. Our urgent care facility is firmly grounded on the founding principles of our Portland general care practice where we prioritize both the physical and emotional well-being of our patients.

We are here to bridge the gap between your primary care veterinarian and an emergency room for urgent medical issues.

Are we the right fit for your pet’s medical needs?

  • What we offer

    We offer point of care diagnostics like blood work, x-rays, ultrasound and other testing to determine why your pet isn’t feeling well. Once we determine the problem, we will offer solutions to treat and manage the issue to help your pet feel better.

    Our goal is to diagnose and treat whenever possible. In cases where we cannot treat or your pet needs more care than we can provide, we'll help you find your next step.

  • What we don't offer

    While we have extended and weekend hours, we don’t hospitalize patients overnight, perform dental treatments or elective surgeries, like spays or neuters.

  • How we are different

    We are independently and locally owned. We understand the stress of unexpected medical issues and strive to make an unplanned veterinary visit a better experience through a tailored approach for each patient and their guardian.

    We are transparent in our process and handle the care of all of our patients in a thoughtful & individualized approach.
